What data we collect

When you use FirstCut Studio, we collect the following information:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and profile picture provided through Google OAuth sign-in.
• Uploaded videos: Video files you upload for processing, along with associated metadata (file name, size, duration, format).
• Usage analytics: Page views and feature usage collected through Google Analytics 4 (when enabled) to improve the service.

How we process videos

Your uploaded video footage is processed using Google Gemini AI for scene analysis, quality grading, and content classification. Processed clips and rendered highlight reels are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Video data is used solely to provide the editing service and is not used for AI model training.

Third-party services

FirstCut Studio relies on the following third-party services:

• Google OAuth: Authentication and account creation. We receive your name, email, and profile picture.
• Cloudflare R2: Secure cloud storage for uploaded videos, processed clips, and rendered highlight reels.
• Google Gemini: AI-powered video analysis including scene detection, quality grading, and content classification.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete individual assets and rendered highlight reels at any time from your library. Deleted files are permanently removed from cloud storage. To request full account deletion including all associated data, contact us at the email address below.

Cookies and tracking

FirstCut Studio uses the following cookies and tracking mechanisms:

• Session cookies: Auth.js httpOnly session cookies for authentication. These are essential for the service to function.
• Analytics: Google Analytics 4 cookies (when enabled) for anonymous usage statistics. No personally identifiable information is sent to analytics. Analytics cookies are only set after you give explicit consent via our cookie banner.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser data or by deleting the cookie-consent entry from your browser's local storage. The consent banner will reappear on your next visit.
